Wire TransfersWire Transfers represent the quickest way to move money to or from your Credit Union account and another finanacial institution. Unfortunately, it is the most expensive! We charge a $20 fee per transfer and many times the receiving/sending institution charges a similar fee. International wires will cost $50 or more and may take five or more days to complete.
For credit that same day, wire transfers must be initiated before 3 p.m. Any transfer requests after that time will be done the next business day.
What’s needed: an ABA# (American Bankers Association number) and one or more account numbers depending on the receiver’s banking arrangement.
TO SEND MONEY TO YOUR CREDIT UNION ACCOUNT FROM ANOTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION:You must call the Credit Union to obtain the proper ABA number and account number the wired funds will go into. Also, you should let us know when to expect the wire and how to handle your funds when they are received.
TO SEND MONEY FROM YOUR CREDIT UNION ACCOUNT TO ANOTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION:It is a must that you call the receiver and obtain their “incoming wire” instructions. They will be able to give you the sequence of numbers that will be needed to give you proper credit.
At a minimum, we will need an ABA# and at least one account number.
(NOTE: The ABA# of the receiver’s financial institution may not be the actual ABA# of the receiver’s bank. Many smaller banks, savings and loans and credit unions “bank” at other financial institutions. Unless they are a member of the Federal Reserve, the ABA# will usually be that of another financial institution. Be sure to call the receiver and verify “how to wire funds to them.” - Don’t just ask for their ABA number.)
The first account number will be the account number of the receiver company, bank, savings and loan, or credit union that “banks” at the one with the ABA#. If there is a second account number, it is usually the account number of the receiver company or the individual that has their account there.
Call the Credit Union and give them the wiring instructions. Please remember to allow for our wire fee of $20 and any wire fee of the receiving/sending financial institution.
Fees and charges are subject to change without notice.
